Merry Christmas to you all

college news

2016 has been a year of highs and lows for all involved at Astute Training.

From the magical moments of seeing so many of our students gain permanent residency, to the times of personal sorrows experienced by students and staff alike we have seen one thing shine through above all others…the compassion and care that our Astute Family surround each other with.

Our staff strive to ensure that the student journey is made as easy as possible, but that journey is enhanced a thousand fold by the camaraderie and friendship between students.

Thank you all for making our year fun, adventurous and fulfilling.

We hope you all will have a wonderful holiday break and return again to us in 2017 refreshed, relaxed and re-energised!

Merry Christmas to you all.

Autumn Adventures

college news

Welcome back to all our old and welcome to our new students to Term 2 at Astute Training.

I’m sure you will all be feeling a nip in the air as we finally say goodbye to summer and begin the journey to the colder winter months ahead.

Autumn is a beautiful time of year in the Penrith / Blue Mountains region and with 2 public holidays falling in this term, it would be wise to start planning a few short trips to play in the autumn leaves! Why not go fruit picking at Bilpin, or visit some amazing autumn gardens or take in an art festival? There are so many choices to be made.

Click on any of the images below to investigate some ideas for your Autumn Adventures while studying at Astute Training and be sure to tell us all about it when you come back to class!

The value of reality

college news

The Community Services and Business classes have combined for a holistic unit on diversity and sustainability and recently visited Blacktown Showground Community Gardens and the Punuku Tjukurpa exhibition at Lewers Bequest Gallery, Emu Plains.

By speaking with the actual participants, volunteers, curators, officials, etc in a working environment, these excursions were instrumental in providing “field experience” where work placement is unavailable.96

All students had a great time and came home from the community gardens with highly prized fruit, vegetables and seeds!

The exhibition of Punuku Tjukurpa is well worth a visit. The exhibition is free and open until Mid May.  Read all about it and find out where it is at: http://www.penrithregionalgallery.org/punuku-tjukurpa/

Photos are available in our Excursions Gallery!
