The Business Studies students are off to a flying start this year with an exciting new project planned. Business Studies at Astute Training are taught in a holistic manner. This means that we have an overall theme for each term and we work on a project for that theme which incorporates all the required subject matter in a practical, realistic environment. Don’t worry, it sounds hard but it’s actually a lot of fun!
This term we are focusing on the town of Emu Plains as our main theme. Emu Plains is Penrith’s sister town, located on the other side of the Nepean River at the foot of the Blue Mountains. It was the starting point for explorers as they began the exploration of the Blue Mountains in 1813. The class have been busily learning how to create their own individual websites and blogs which will showcase all their work for this year in a visually stimulating manner. Studies will include the history and diversity of the area and how we can accommodate that diversity by creating a sustainable community project.
So far it is looking good and we will check back on the student’s progress as the weeks go by.
Good luck to you all with your websites!by
2016 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Astute Training Pty Ltd and we are so happy to welcome back our amazing students!
You all look so refreshed after your holiday. Reports from all classes have been that students are really eager to get into their studies and this has made life for the trainers a total pleasure!
We have some staff changes to announce. We are thrilled to have Rosemary Herbert return to Astute to take on our Community Services classes. Rosemary is a highly qualified lady who exudes calm and confidence to all who meet her, and she makes the classroom fun!
We are also extremely happy to increase our number of Aged Care trainers to include Rachel Brigola! Rachel comes to us with a background in various training environments and is so very enthusiastic about making her class lively and interactive. We really look forward to Rachel’s talents being put to good use.
Looking forward to sharing another year of good times with all our students.
Happy New Year!by
