This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

MODE OF STUDY
Classroom based plus online and distance study

DURATION
Domestic Students: Up to 12 months study including 120 hours compulsory Work Placement

International Students: 12 months study including 120 hours (3 weeks equivalent) compulsory Work Placement as listed on the course timetable.
International students will be required to complete 20 hours per week; Which is carried out in 15 hours of face to face classes and 5 hours online or distance study per week.

This course is available on Monday and Tuesday labelled as Group 1 or Wednesday and Thursday labelled as Group 2. This timetable displays the schedule for Group 1 and 2.

    As an International Student you may work 40 hours per fortnight while studying. Study pathways are available under each of our courses in the menu on the website.

    Single mother of 4. One in grade 2 next year, two in preschool next year and the baby will be babysat providing i find a course. I have a sister with down syndrome and have always found a high interest in the field. How do I apply? What are the cost? What are the days and hours?

    You may apply by filling out our online enrolment form. For a Disability course the total cost is $7500.00 for the course duration of 12 months. This course is run 2 days a week Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday from 9am to 4:30pm.

    We offer Certificate IV in Disability, we also offer the chance for our students to move from Disability to Diploma of Community Services for a higher certificate in the industry.
